Isn’t this recent weather the kind that makes you want to hop in the car, roll down the windows, play your favorite feel good jam and enjoy the scenic roads of Chester County? There is nothing that beats a relaxing drive such as that but this weekend, some added pit stops might be the thing to take your rubber wheeled stroll to the next level.
With a tour map already set to go for those interested, the 2nd Annual Chester County Studio Tour offers you a full day of 10 studios and 25 extremely talented artists, set among winding roads and rolling hills. The best part is organizers of the tour encourage you to explore beyond the studios during the two day event. Much of the art work featured in the scheduled stops may also be found at restaurants and vendors throughout the area. Jeff Schaller, organizer of the Chester County Studio tour, also writes a regular column for the Town Dish, where the artists in restaurants are interestingly exposed through a personal one on one interview.
Remember that fun, spontaneous adventure you’ve always wanted to go on to experience something totally new? Here is your chance. It’s totally free to enter each studio along the tour and they’ve already provided travelers with directions so fear of aimless wandering can be swept aside.If you’re planning to check out the artist’s work in restaurants as well, pop in to the Blue Cafe in Downingtown for a taste of Adrian Martinez’s art and perhaps a flavorful snack? Lele Galer’s work can be seen at Galer Estate Vineyard & Winery in Kennett Square, Erica Brown is featured at Pietro’s Prime in West Chester, and Rhoda Kahler’s work at Yellow Springs Farm in Chester Springs. Let’s not forget the artist who started it all, Jeff Schaller, who’s unique pop art can be found at a local favorite, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant. The possibility to explore local establishments whilst enjoying some of the most talented artists in the area awaits you.
