Here’s your chance to explore the marvel that is Wyebrook Farm with a pairing of Victory and Black Walnut. The grandest addition to Chester County’s food production, Wyebrook Farm is typically only open on Saturdays and Sundays. That means that this special event on Tuesday, June 12th, doesn’t just offer an after hours peak a the county’s gem, it ups the ante by including a favorite local brewery, Victory.
The Brandywine Chapter of the Pennsylvania Restaurant Association will be hosting Brandywine Local’iscious, a celebration of local foods. Wyebrook will open both it’s Market and Cafe at 5:30 pm that day so that you may sample the goodness that is created there. Victory Brewing Company will be on hand to quench your thirst with samples of it’s locally produced beers. Black Walnut Winery will also take part of the local-infused event, pouring samples of their award-winning wines that have redefined Pa.’s wine industry. Other area foods producers are expected to attend, sampling their products.
Wyebrook Farm will be offering a special on their delicious Wyebrook Farm Burger (pictured, to left), with free house-made lemonade or sweet ice tea offered with each meal purchased. Sounds like a perfect outdoor, warm weather meal to me! But if you’re not into that type of cuisine, the remainder of Wyebrook’s delicious Cafe Menu will be offered al a carte. No matter what you pick it will be top notch because the organization believes the only way to guarantee healthy food, is to know the farmer who produced it. That’s why Wyebrook sells its meat and produce products from their very own barn. There is no use of artificial fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, hormones or antibiotics. Just pure freshness!
Chef Janet Crandall will be on hand to answer all of your questions regarding their field raised meats which are butchered on site. A former instructor at the French Culinary Institute in Manhattan for 10 years, Chef Janet will be sharing cooking instruction for the cuts she produces.
