Southern Chester County
The Orchard

Chef Gary Trevisani’s restaurant was named as one of the Top 50 Restaurants for American Cuisine by Open Table in 2010. For New Year’s Eve, he has created a special tasting menu to send off 2011 with style. Trevisani’s special menu provides diners with three options for each course. The three choices for the farm course are Noisette of Lamb, Quail or a Petit Filet Mignon. Seatings are at 5:30 and 8:30 pm. Cost is $105 per person. The Orchard is a BYOB so bring your finest bottle of wine.
Portabello’s

Chef Brett Hulbert and Sandra Morris are celebrating their first New Year’s as the new owners of this classic BYOB restaurant in the borough. Their dinner menu for New Year’s Eve includes Firecracker Shrimp and Composition of Winter lettuce as first and second courses. The main course provides the diner with a choice of either Duet of Filet Mignon & Blue Crab Souffle, Slow Roasted Norwegian Salmon or Lobster Ravioli. Dessert is Liz Marden’s Chocolate Silk Pie. $65 per person.
Twelves Grill

Chef Tim Smith and wife Kristin’s BYOB is a bit of metropolitan flair set in a transformed bank in the middle of the dry borough of West Grove. The New Year’s Eve menu will be a Four Course Prix Fixe menu for $65 per person. They will be seating from 6:00- 10:00 this year. Learn more at twelvesgrill.com.

Amani’s BYOB

Ring in the New Year with the “Best Chef of Chester County,” Chef Jonathan Amann. The chef/co-owner and his wife, Jeanine Amann, will be celebrating the end of the year with a four course prix fixe menu that includes a glass of complimentary champagne and another of house-made limoncello. Pick from first-course options like Maine lobster bisque and a Boston Bibb salad, second-course choices like smoked duck and brie spring rolls and yellowfin tuna tartare, third-course masterpieces like a porcini-crusted red grouper and a Berkshire pork chop, and meal-ending bites like warm dark chocolate Valrhona cake and Meyer lemon cheesecake. Avalon Pasta Bistro

Chef John Brandt Lee’s Avalon Pasta Bistro celebrates their first New Year’s Eve in Downingtown. They will be featuring a European Style Menu with multiple courses of smaller portions, with the antipasti platter served family style. Station Taproom is hosting a five course beer dinner with Kevin Brooks of Shelton Brothers Importers. The main course for the dinner is a chili rubbed venison loin with bacon braised brussels sprouts and wild rice paired with a De Molen Cease and Desist Imperial Stout. The first course is served promptly at 8 pm. $100 per person. If you choose to stay after dinner they will have complimentary geuze and sparkling wine to ring in 2012. Reservations required. The Ship Inn

The Ship Inn is serving New Year’s Eve Dinner with music from Kevin Pierce. Ala Carte dinner is served. Music begins at 9pm and runs until 1am. Free champagne toast at midnight with hats and a balloon drop. Reservations required.
Vickers Restaurant

Vickers is holding a New Year’s Eve Dinner Dance in their Plantation Ballroom from 8:30pm to 12:30am. The package includes hors d’Oeuvres, a three-course dinner, champagne toast, 4-hour open bar plus a band and dancing. Is there anything more fun than waking up on New Year’s Day and going out to brunch in your pajamas? We think not! America Bar & Grill is hosting their first New Year’s Day Pajama Brunch! Take the whole family out and celebrate in your PJ’s! In addition to great food, they have one heckuva list of draft beers too. Brunch is served January 1st, from 10am to 3pm. The Silverspoon in Wayne will host a New Year’s Eve Prix Fixe from 5pm to 10pm. Reservations required. Five courses for $65. The menu features panko-crusted Oysters, champagne, Mille Feuille, Smoked Pheasant Roulade, a slow Roasted Halibut or Braised Veal Cheeks.
Philadelphia
Monk’s Cafe

Monk’s will have two seatings on New Year’s Eve. Join them at 6:30pm for a four course dinner ($65) with beer pairing or go later, 6:30 pm for a six-course dinner ($125) paired with seven beers and a midnight toast with Malhuer Brut cave-aged ale. More info at monkscafe.com.
