PASA’ s 4th Annual “Bike Fresh Bike Local” is family friendly and a real community effort. Proceeds support PASA’s work in SE Pennsylvania on behalf of family farms growing fresh fruit, vegetables, and humanely raised poultry, beef and pork. Last year’s ride attracted over 600 riders, many of who reported it was “the best and most beautiful ride ever.” The route takes riders “soaring along un-trafficked country roads next to small farms that tend to the land the way it should be tended, and raise the kind of foods we want our children to be eating,” says Royer Smith, one of the ”Bike Fresh Bike Local” organizers.

Cyclists begin as early as 7am (if tackling the 75-mile route; most scenic, but also hilly and challenging even for seasoned riders) and as late as 10:30am (if tackling the 25-mile route; appropriate for casual riders). Victory Brewing co-owner Bill Covaleski even reveals that for this year, he is working with PASA to get more chefs on bikes, especially those serving local foods in their restaurants.
