9th Annual Teri’s Run and Twilight Walk
The 9th Annual Teri’s Run and Twilight Walk will take shape on September 10 at 7 p.m. with a 5K run and 1 mile walk. Dedicated to the memory of Teri Valocchi ’72, who passed away in Feb. 2002 from scleroderma, this run assists in raising awareness and funding research for this debilitating and life threatening disease. In honor of all those who lost in their battles with scleroderma (also known as systematic sclerosis), this fast, flat, fun and spectator-friendly race begins and ends on Green Street in Downingtown.
Local supporters will be providing giveaways during the awards ceremony, which is slated for 8 p.m. following the race. All children participating in the Kids’ run, which takes off prior to the Teri’s Run at 6:30 p.m., will receive finisher medals for their willing participation.

And, we can’t forget to note—each year, many local businesses show their support for the cause, including East Lancaster Avenue’s Downingtown Country Gifts who will donate 10 percent of their day’s sales to Teri’s Run (they have donated each year and continue to do so, as well). So, if you are not running or walking, you may like to shop in support of the local cause! Downingtown County Gifts opens at 10 a.m. on the race day.
